Growing To Meet The Future – Construction Projects

Below is a list of our ongoing construction projects at FTCSC. This page will continue to be updated with new floorplans, schedules, and pictures as they become available.


Franklin Central High School

Franklin Central High is receiving a new academic wing to accommodate the continued rapid growth. The two-story academic wing will add 28 classrooms and relocate the Art Department to the new wing. The new academic wing is located on the south side of the building facing Indian Creek Road. The project floor plan, renderings, and timeline are below.

Franklin Central Junior High

Franklin Central Junior High has a plan to expand parking, place a road connecting to Edgewood Ave, and relocate athletic facilities.  The rendering can be found below.

Edgewood Intermediate

Edgewood Intermediate is receiving an addition to accommodate the rapid enrollment growth. The project will add twelve additional classrooms. In addition, Edgewood will receive an auxiliary gymnasium to accommodate enrollment. The floor plan, project schedule, and project pictures are below. The project’s estimated timeline is July 2023.

Kitley Intermediate

Kitley Intermediate is receiving an addition to accommodate the rapid enrollment growth. The project will connect the current blue and green wings with twelve additional classrooms. In addition, Kitley will receive an auxiliary gymnasium and a new cafe to accommodate enrollment. The floor plan, project schedule, and project pictures are below. The project’s estimated timeline is July 2023.

Acton Elementary

Acton Elementary recently completed a school wide HVAC replacement. The HVAC project will provide Acton Elementary classrooms with better and quieter systems that will also take up less space in the classroom. Acton Elementary also recently had their parking lot paved.

Adams Elementary

Adams Elementary has no active construction projects at this time.

Arlington Elementary

Arlington Elementary recently completed a school wide HVAC replacement. The HVAC project will provide Arlington Elementary classrooms with better and quieter systems that will also take up less space in the classroom.

Bunker Hill Elementary

Bunker Hill Elementary recently completed a school wide HVAC replacement. The HVAC project will provide Bunker Hill Elementary classrooms with better and quieter systems that will also take up less space in the classroom.

New Bethel Elementary School

FTCSC continues to experience rapid enrollment growth. The FTCSC School Board approved the construction of a new elementary school. The new elementary school will be located at the corner of Thompson and Senour, behind the current Indianapolis Fire Department. Listed below, you will find the floor plans and the project timeline. The project’s estimated timeline is for the completion of the new elementary school in May of 2024. This would make the first school year with students the 2024-2025 school year.

South Creek Elementary

South Creek recently finished a project to replace and repair its roof. The roof evaluation report is posted below.

Thompson Crossing Elementary

Thompson Crossing will start the process of having their Chiller replaced in early 2023. The timeline is posted below. The building also recently finished a project to replace and repair its roof. The roof evaluation report is posted below as well. 

Franklin Township Learning Center

FTLC is in the process of replacing and upgrading its HVAC systems. The HVAC projects will provide FTLC classrooms with better and quieter systems that will also take up less space in the classroom. FTLC is also in the process of removing two older wings of the building to provide more green space for the FCHS campus.

Transportation Center

An addition and renovation was just completed of the Transportation Center.  Additional maintenance bays were added for our growing fleet as well as office and meeting rooms
