Growing To Meet The Future – Construction Projects

Below is a list of our ongoing construction projects at FTCSC. This page will continue to be updated with new floorplans, schedules, and pictures as they become available.


Franklin Central High School

Franklin Central High School has completed Phase 1 of its renovation and expansion to support its rapid growth. This phase introduced a two-story academic wing featuring 28 new classrooms and a newly relocated Art Department. The addition is situated on the south side of the building, facing Indian Creek Road. Below, you can find the renderings, drone footage of the construction, and completed photos.

The school is now moving into Phase 2 of the project, which will expand performing arts spaces, enlarge and enhance the cafeteria, and increase physical education facilities.

Franklin Central Junior High

Franklin Central Junior High is expanding parking, placing a road connecting to Edgewood Ave, and relocating athletic facilities. The rendering and pictures can be found below.

Edgewood Intermediate

Edgewood Intermediate has recently completed an expansion to address its rapid enrollment growth. The project added twelve new classrooms and an auxiliary gymnasium, enhancing the school’s capacity to support its growing student population.

Kitley Intermediate

Kitley Intermediate recently completed a significant expansion to accommodate its rapid enrollment growth. This project introduced twelve additional classrooms, an auxiliary gymnasium, and a new café, all designed to enhance the school’s ability to serve its expanding student body.

Acton Elementary

Acton Elementary recently underwent a comprehensive renovation, including a full HVAC system replacement, new carpeting, and a repaved parking lot. The upgraded HVAC system will offer quieter, more efficient climate control while occupying less space in classrooms. The new carpeting replaces old, worn, and stained flooring, providing a fresh and updated look. Additionally, the repaved parking lot enhances safety for both vehicles and buses.

Adams Elementary

Adams Elementary has no active construction projects at this time.

Arlington Elementary

Arlington Elementary recently completed a school-wide HVAC replacement. The project will provide Arlington Elementary classrooms with better, quieter systems that will also take up less space.

Bunker Hill Elementary

Bunker Hill Elementary recently completed a school-wide HVAC replacement. The HVAC project will provide Bunker Hill Elementary classrooms with better and quieter systems that will also take up less space in the classroom.

New Bethel Elementary School

New Bethel, FTCSC’s 7th elementary school, opened its doors to students in the fall of 2024. Serving PreK through 3rd grade, the school currently enrolls around 450 students. The name “New Bethel” honors the history of Wanamaker, which was originally named New Bethel. The school is located at the corner of Thompson and Senour roads, just behind the Indianapolis Fire Department.

South Creek Elementary

South Creek recently finished a project to replace and repair its roof and had its radio tower replaced. It is now the WNAS radion station.

Thompson Crossing Elementary

Thompson Crossing recently had its Chiller replaced and also had its roof replaced and repaired.

Franklin Township Learning Center

FTLC is in the process of replacing and upgrading its HVAC systems. The HVAC projects will provide FTLC classrooms with better and quieter systems that will also take up less space in the classroom. FTLC is also in the process of removing two older wings of the building to provide more green space for the FCHS campus.

Transportation Center

An addition and renovation was recently completed at the Transportation Center.  Additional maintenance bays were added for our growing fleet, as well as office and meeting rooms.
