FTCSC names the new school, New Bethel Elementary

New Bethel Elementary School!!! FTCSC is excited to share that our new elementary school will be named New Bethel Elementary School! At tonight’s FTCSC School Board meeting, our FTCSC School Board approved the recommendation of New Bethel Elementary School from the FTCSC School Naming Committee. The New Bethel name has a deep history in our community. New Bethel was the original name of Wanamaker. Since then, the area has carried the New Bethel name in various ways. In fact, if you Google the intersection of Thompson and Senour, where the school will be located, you will see the New Bethel name at that intersection. FTCSC is proud to pay homage to the history of that area of Franklin Township by having both names – New Bethel and Wanamaker on our buildings – Wanamaker Early Learning Center and New Bethel Elementary School.

FTCSC would like to thank our community members who submitted a new school name suggestion using our online form and the members of the FTCSC School Naming Committee. Besides New Bethel being the recommendation of the FTCSC School Naming Committee, New Bethel Elementary School was also the most suggested name by our community!

The new elementary school is currently under construction and will open as a Kindergarten – 3rd Grade elementary school building for the start of the 2024-2025 school year. As we are growing to meet the future, we encourage you to follow New Bethel Elementary School’s construction and all of our FTCSC construction projects at https://ftcsc.org/construction-projects/. Be on the lookout this summer for when New Bethel Elementary School’s Principal, Mrs. Meli Drier, releases the official New Bethel Elementary School website and the New Bethel Elementary School’s Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter pages!
