Search Policies Based on Keyword
C550-E – STUDENT SEARCH AND SEIZURE DOCUMENTATION FORM
Per Board Policy C550-R, for each search of a student or a student’s property, an administrator shall submit a Google Form memorandum to the principal stating:
- the information upon which the search was based, i.e. the individualized, reasonable suspicion; the time, date, location, persons present, and students and/or places searched; a description of each item seized and its disposition; and the time and date of notice to the parent or guardian
The administrator completes the Google Form in the following order:
- School of search
- Date search took place
- Time search took place
- Location search took place
- Persons present during search (include any students involved)
- Places searched
- What information was the search based on? The search must meet the standard of “Individualized Reasonable Suspicion”
- Description of any item seized and its disposition
- Date parent was contacted
- Time parent was contacted
